About the Owners
The Maraboon Vet Surgery is owned and operated by Dr Angi Sutherland and her husband, Alec. After purchasing the small animal side of the existing clinic in October 2011, Dr Angi has quickly became renowned as Emerald’s favourite vet. Originally from Canada, Dr Angi brought years of experience and talent to the clinic, whilst building a team on exceptional customer service and bringing a compassionate nature towards animals.
In 2016, Angi and Alec followed their dreams and expanded the Maraboon family, by opening Stage 1 of the Maraboon Pet Resort. This pet resort is the first of its kind in the Central Highlands and features premium dog accommodation, divine cattery, doggy day care facility and grooming studio – all in one facility.

The Maraboon Veterinary Surgery is a family based practice in Emerald, which strongly believes pets are an important part of any family. It is a small animal practice specialising in canine and feline services. The team strives to provide all clients and patients with the best veterinary care possible and aims to achieve optimal animal health through preventative medicine and client education. The clinic prides itself on customer service and fulfilling the needs of clients with compassion and professionalism.
The facility features a full service hospital and has a vet on call 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, to help with all small animal needs. The medicine and treatment options are always modernising to reflect advances in veterinary technology and research, so clients can rest assured knowing their pets will be in the best and most caring hands possible.
