RECEPTIONIST - PART TIME - BLACKWATER

What you'll be doing

You’ll be the heart of our hospital working with our close knit team — greeting clients, juggling bookings, providing top-notch customer service, supporting the rest of the team, and keeping everything running smoothly in the clinic.  Your days will include:

  • Delivering warm and professional service to clients and their pets
  • Managing bookings, phone calls, emails, and appointment/surgical scheduling
  • Handling payments and daily reconciliations
  • Keeping stock and inventory organised
  • Assisting with marketing and social media posts
  • Bringing your energy and positivity to every shift!
     

We're looking for

  • A people person with a bubbly, friendly and compassionate nature with a high priority approach to patient and client care
  • Excellent communicator (written and verbal) and a team player
  • Supremely organised, adaptable, and calm under pressure
  • Confident using computers (MS Office, Gmail, veterinary software programs etc.)
  • Prior customer service experience (bonus points for health or medical experience)!
  • Most importantly — a genuine love for animals

 

About Us 

The Maraboon Vet Surgery is known for delivering exceptional veterinary care across the Central Highlands. We’re proud of our high standards, our compassionate team, and the strong relationships we build with clients and their pets.


Our satellite clinic in Blackwater is open 3 days a week (Mondays, Thursdays and Fridays). It is a newly built practice with all the bells and whistles, running on a small fun team often consisting of 1 vet, 2 nurses and 1 receptionist.

SENIOR VET NURSES - Full time - Aug 2026

 

Maraboon Animal Health is growing and we are looking for new vet nurses to join our team! With the start of equine breeding season fast approaching and our new vet clinic opening at the Maraboon Pet Resort, we are searching for senior vet nurses to join our crew of superstars.

These roles are diverse across our Central Highlands clinics (4 locations). The positions have hands on responsibilities running consults, assisting with hospital operations and surgery. Cert II or IV qualifications (or 2+ years equivalent experience working in the animal industry) will be highly favoured, though entry level candidates can still apply.

These opportunities offer an attractive remuneration package and a supportive work/life roster. The positions are full-time (4 day week) and a 1 in 4 weekend shift. Vet nursing is fast-paced, high pressure but highly rewarding, working amongst one of the best and most supportive teams in the industry.

What you'll be doing

You’ll be working at the heart of our hospital working alongside our nursing and veterinary teams. Your days will include:

  • Overseeing hospital and day patient treatments and procedures.
  • Overseeing and assisting junior staff with their responsibilities (senior roles)
  • Surgery patient care (including anaesthetic monitoring).
  • Blood sampling, catheterisation and in-house diagnostic testing.
  • Consult nurse duties including client education and assisting the veterinarians with consults and billing.
  • All basic veterinary nurse duties including cleaning, surgical instrument sterilisation, upholding WHS protocols and patient handling.
  • Assisting with reception duties, including taking phone calls, greeting and discharging patients/clients and payment handling.

 
We are looking for:

  • Exceptional work ethic and ability to show initiative
  • People with leadership ambitions
  • Minimum 1-2 years' experience working with animals (no experience but have ambitions to move into vet nursing career- send us your application anyway!)
  • Cert II or IV in Veterinary Nursing/Animal Care will be highly favoured

About Us 

Our purpose-built hospital at 61 Hospital Road, Emerald is known for delivering exceptional veterinary care across the Central Highlands. With 4 consult rooms, double surgery suites, separate dog and cat wards, and a state-of-the-art treatment area, we’re equipped for everything from routine care to complex orthopaedic surgeries. We’re proud of our high standards, our compassionate team, and the strong relationships we build with clients and their pets. 

We also have a satellite clinic in Blackwater that is open 3 days a week. It is a newly built practice with all the bells and whistles, running on a small fun team. Shifts at this location are shared between the staff with travel time and transport included for any rostered shifts there. 

We also operate a large animal hospital and equine breeding centre (Maraboon Rural Vet Services) and Pet Resort in Emerald. The Maraboon Pet Resort is also undergoing a building extension and a new vet clinic will be opening there in late 2026, so we need more exceptional staff coming on board to fill the new positions.
